Kids Pottery Classes Lake Worth

Kids Classes

Kids classes at Potters Cove give children ages 6 through 12 a hands-on introduction to clay, glass and painting in a working studio. Pottery is at the heart of what we teach, but kids also rotate through stained glass, glass fusion, enamel art and craft projects depending on the class or program. Sessions are built for the age group with real materials and real tools scaled appropriately, so kids leave with something they actually made rather than a sample of a craft activity.

Booking and Scheduling

Use the Book Now button on any class listing to reserve a spot. Kids classes and programs tend to fill quickly, so early booking is encouraged. If you're not sure which class is the right fit for your child's age or interests, give us a call at 561-557-5565 and we'll talk you through the options.

After School and Summer Programs

After School classes meet weekly during the school year and give kids a regular creative outlet outside of homework and screens. Summer Camp runs Monday through Friday from June through late July, with each week built around its own theme. Both programs fill quickly. Our full Summer Camp 2026 schedule and registration details live on the dedicated Summer Camp page.

Memberships

Some kids take a class or two and decide they want to keep working between sessions. A kids membership gives them personal shelf space, regular use of the wheels, kiln firing on their pieces and Open Studio time. Since wheels and kilns need to be handled with care, we have a quick safety check with each new member before approving access, which is why memberships aren't sold online. Give us a call at 561-557-5565 to talk through pricing and schedule.

Upcoming Kids Classes

The full schedule of upcoming kids classes lives on our calendar, where you can browse by month or quarter and book directly from any listing. Spaces fill quickly, so it's worth checking back regularly if a class your child is interested in is already full.

Frequently asked questions

Ready to Get Your Hands Dirty?

Join a class and discover the joy of creating something with your own hands. Our instructors will guide you every step of the way, whether you're a first-timer or a returning artist. All materials, tools, and firings are included, so you can just focus on having fun and making a masterpiece.

About Our Classes

Hands-on art does something for kids that screens and structured activities don't quite reach. Working with clay or glass requires patience and it teaches kids that it's okay to try again when something doesn't go right the first time. Kids pick up fine motor skills along the way, but the bigger payoff tends to be the confidence that comes from making something real and finishing it. The social side helps too. Most kids quickly settle in alongside others working on the same kinds of projects.

Types of Kids Classes

Hand building is the foundation for most kids classes, where kids learn to roll, pinch and shape clay into recognizable forms. Wheel throwing is offered for older kids once they're ready for the focus it requires. Glass fusion, painting and craft projects round out the schedule, giving kids variety across different media. One-and-done sessions are a good fit if your child wants to try the studio without committing, while ongoing weekly classes work well for kids who want to keep building skills over time.

Our Instructors

Classes are led by working artists who teach the disciplines they actually practice. The instructors who guide your child through clay, glass or paint have built real experience working in studios, and they bring the patience that teaching young students requires. Class sizes stay small so every child gets real attention rather than being one of a crowd.

Class Structure and Experience

Most kids classes run two to three hours and begin with a short demonstration so kids know what they're making before they start. Instructors move around the room helping each child stay on track and offering encouragement as projects develop. We handle trimming, firing and glazing afterward, and you'll get a call once your child's piece is ready to pick up, usually within a few weeks.
