Booking and Scheduling

Use the Book Now button on any workshop listing to reserve a spot. Workshops tend to fill quickly, especially the Wednesday Night sessions, so early booking is encouraged. If you're not sure which workshop fits your skill level or interests, give us a call at 561-557-5565 and we'll talk you through the options.

Memberships

Some workshop students decide they want regular access to the studio between sessions. A membership gives you personal shelf space, regular use of the wheels, kiln firing on your pieces and Open Studio time every week. Since wheels and kilns need to be handled with care, we have a quick safety check with new members before approving access, which is why memberships aren't sold online. Give us a call at 561-557-5565 to talk through pricing and schedule.

Ready to Get Your Hands Dirty?

Sign up for a workshop and spend an evening making something with clay, glass or paint. Whether you're a first-timer or coming back for another session, an instructor will guide you through the project. Materials, tools and firings are included so you can focus on the work itself.

About Our Workshops

Workshops are built for focus rather than gradual buildup. In a single session, you get the technique demonstrated, work on the project with hands-on guidance and leave with something complete. The format works for adults whose schedules don't suit a weekly series and for makers who want to try a medium before committing to a full class. The room tends to be a mix of first-timers and regulars.

Wednesday Night Workshops

Our flagship workshop series runs every other Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m., with a different project each session. Past and upcoming workshops have covered sip-and-paint, wheel throwing, stained glass sun catchers, tie-dye, ring holders and ceramic mugs. Seating is limited and the schedule rotates regularly. The current lineup is featured on our homepage with full details, dates, and registration for each session.

Types of Workshops

Pottery workshops cover hand building and wheel throwing, either as standalone single sessions or as introductions to a longer class series. Glass fusion workshops produce kiln-fired trays, ornaments and suncatchers in a single evening, while stained glass workshops introduce cutting and foiling on a starter project. Enamel art workshops turn copper into finished pendants or pins. Painting workshops run a relaxed format suited to groups of friends. Most workshops are open to first-timers, with no prerequisite skills assumed.

Workshop Experience

Most workshops run two to three hours and start with a demonstration so everyone knows what they're making before getting started. From there, you work at your own pace while an instructor moves around the room offering feedback and answering questions. We handle trimming, firing and glazing afterward on any work that needs it, and you'll get a call when your piece is ready to pick up, usually within a few weeks.

Upcoming Workshops

The full schedule of upcoming workshops lives on our home page. Check the schedule at the top left to book an event. Wednesday Night sessions and other workshops both appear there, with seating limits and pricing for each.

Frequently asked questions

Workshops

Workshops at Potters Cove are one-off sessions built around a single project. You sign up for a specific workshop, show up that day, work on the project under instructor guidance and leave with something you made. They're a good fit for anyone who wants to try the studio without committing to a series, or for returning students who want to focus on a specific technique without weeks of buildup. Wednesday Night Workshops run throughout the year across a range of media and skill levels.
